The End Before the Beginning
He left her,
On that frigid day in January.
So stunned, she could not
Speak.
But she wanted him to go.
She practically arranged it.
But then again,
How embarrassing.
Humiliating. Devastating.
Failure, that’s what she
Was, a common slut failure.
But she wanted him to go.
The skies, full of ice
And snow, she could not get
Out with their baby.
But he did.
What would she say to them? It
Didn’t matter, because
Her mouth, frozen as the ground,
Could not move to utter a word.
But she wanted him to go.

Discussion-
However, if you read closely, in this poem you will find some control on the part of the woman and the man. Further, the title itself indicates that there is another beginning coming down the road. It's tough, ending something before we are ready. It's even more scary to end something before we have a clear path in front of us. Nevertheless, that is the way it happens more often than not. However, some of the nicest outcomes may start in difficult new beginnings. Best wishes in all of our new beginnings. skp
