An Admission of My Truth

A woman writer, possibly considering the importance of getting the wording just right. At least that is what it looks like.

An Admission of My Truth

It would be disingenuous of me
To say
You are nothing.

It would be crass
To say
You are unworthy.

I would be stupid
To think that
You are ordinary.

There are so many
Things about which
I am wrong in life.

My understanding of you
And what you are to me
Is not one of them.

This little bit of truth/poem could be said to and or about a variety of people in one's life, couldn't it?       skp

The Seduction of Sarah

Picture
This may not be Sarah and her seducer, but no doubt they will have a close and loving life.

The Seduction of Sarah

On Monday he hugged her
From behind as she
Washed the dishes.
She leaned into him and
Felt warm and comfortable.

Tuesday he gently
Touched her shoulder as
He passed her chair.
Later he reached under the table
For her hand and expertly
Massaged the delicate palm.

On Wednesday he drew her
To him and kissed her mouth.
As she let go of the embrace,
He tenderly pulled her back in
For a more sultry moment.

Thursday morning, he greeted
Her with composed passion.
Before they drifted off to sleep,
That night, he whispered
A promise of touching affections
For her to dream upon.

On Friday he made it
All come true.

Every Love Is Its Own Definition

We could stay on this veranda quite a long time. It looks so inviting! Anyone for warm weather?

Every Love Is Its Own Definition

They were smoking cigarettes and
Drinking Glenfiddich straight up,
Out in the open on the veranda.
Even though it was dangerous,
They didn’t care.
Danger was their choice.

Both belonged to others.
But they met
Openly,
Broadcasting their
Love, unconsciously
Waiting to be found out,
Almost daring to be found out.

Even so, if they were discovered,
Their lives would change dramatically,
If not end entirely.
Safety was their sacrifice.
It was worth it.
Their passion, though
Not sweet, was addictive.
To them, ordinary love
Was the very definition
Of travesty.

There has been a bit of speculation about this poem.  But, I will not contribute to the speculation.  Take whatever meaning works for you.  Enjoy the story.  Then enjoy the definitions of the loves in your life.  skp

The Good Love Will Be Timeless, The Great Love Will Be Endless

"Theirs was a world of tranquility by demand."

The Good Love Will be Timeless,
The Great Love Will be Endless

They wanted and waited
For nothing.
Time was neither a
Friend nor an enemy.
It wasn’t really part of their life.

Time belonged to other people,
As did politics
And occupation
And rush.

Theirs was a world of
Tranquility by demand,
Intellect by nature,
Detachment by choice.

Love had found them
Young and they had claimed
It as their past, present
And future.  There was
No doubt, no fear,
No need for explanation.

And so it is,
No matter what.

Many couples find their own way in the world...together.  Finding one's way with another person is, I believe, the best way to navigate through the challenges of life.  Isn't it wonderful to build love with no fear, doubt or explanation?  Best wishes for a wonderful 2016!    skp
