No Need for Counting
How many shoulders will it
Take for you to stand upon,
Until you can stand tall
On your own?
How many arms will it
Take to wrap around
Your frame until
You feel safe?
Pairs of eyes to keep guard
As you walk, lest you
Fall into the pit?
What about the hands needed
To reach down and
Pull you out of the pit?
Ears to listen to your cries for help
And to your stories of triumph?
How many pairs of legs will it
Take to walk with you
Until you are able to
Take the steps alone?
And when you are ready,
The heart to let you go?
As many as it takes.

▶ Christmas is exactly what you want it to be. Earlene Grey

We cannot celebrate with
Kitty in the tree! Get her down!
She will ruin the scene!
But wait…
See how cute she is and
What fun she will be!
Oh well, let’s just have tea,
Sit awhile and enjoy
Our kitty in the tree.

I couldn't resist putting this silly little poem in. Who hasn't had a cat that didn't get into the tree...or at least think about it. Ornaments have dropped and trees have fallen. Ah, but Christmas can be celebrated just as well.
