My First Day of Autumn This Year Autumn is here. Finally. She came with all the bluster And might that I craved. I could hardly keep my coat on For all of her blowing. The packages battered against My body as I walked. Her wind Strewed branches and needles On to our cleanly raked lawn Of yesterday. Rain followed And it stayed, Hard and heavy. Soon it will be cold to match The color of the sky. And darkness will slip in after Everything else has hit us, Thus beginning this season Of spectacle and pride. I am accepting her with gladness, Not because there is no choice, But because there is no regret. And I greet her with as much pleasure As she has bluster. Susan Patterson 09-2013 |
Audio- Discussion- Boy, there is really nothing to discuss here except that the changing of the seasons is a beautiful thing. For those of you who do not have four seasons, my sympathies. For those of you who seek warmer weather this time of year, my blessings. But as for me and my family, we stay. We stay and enjoy all that our sacred Earth has to offer. skp Back to School Now that it is fall and school has started again in Oregon, I am reminded of the Dr. Seuss books. Weren't they wonderful to read to our children? Or, maybe they were wonderful to read to ourselves! For your listening pleasure, I am including a recording of an old favorite. I do hope that you enjoy it. Happy memories to you. skp ▶ When your heart and reason are at odds, write. Earlene Grey. Till next time! skp
