My connection to you has been
Life changing. Mine, possibly yours.
You know who you are.
You have made me better.
Stronger. Have I made you thus?
If not, then, it is only a lapse in my
Knowledge of how to do so.
For my intention is
To honor you the same as
You have honored me.
Life changing… No other words for it.
Is Letter Writing Enjoying a Resurgence?
Apparently, however, I am not alone. Letter writing is still the best way to get an important message across. But even if one just wanted to send a small individual, hand crafted letter without saying anything too important, it is still makes a strong statement of personal caring. The late Sen. Edward Kennedy was a great note writer, as was Ernest Hemingway. But I know a talented and skilled letter writer today. Sue Williams, a friend from graduate school who lives in another state, keeps in touch by newsy, chatty letters that are created with simplicity and yet still reflect the depth of true affection and friendship. It is a joy to receive her letters.
Here is an article on letter writing you might find interesting BBC - http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-26473507 The article talks about the craft of letter writing and why it is important. There are further links to help find pen pals.
Why not start letter writing again? No, not a chain letter. We all hate those. But, maybe find reasons to "drop someone a line", as they used to say, and make that person's day. skp
