One would think
That at times, their souls
Mingled in each other’s bodies.
Their thoughts were often
Intertwined even when their arms,
Were not.
When separated,
Either for a moment
Or for a millennium,
Neither was quite sure
Of the time spent because,
They were never
Truly apart.
