It’s Not Hello For Now,
It’s Not Good-bye Forever
There’s a gang that I hang out with,
Eon after eon.
Generally I know that I know
One or more of the crew,
Sometimes I have to grow
Into the memory of knowing.
In one life, I might be a mother,
The next time a wife.
Or, I could be a forbidden lover,
A haunting one-time friend,
Or maybe even a clergyman.
We fuss and fight.
Pet and love.
Learn and forget,
Then try to learn again.
Revolving around each other,
Evolving because of each other,
We’re our very own cosmos
Whirling through a space of mortality,
Our gravity pulling each other along.
See ya’ later alligator,
After a while crocodile.

I was hesitant to put this poem in The Causerie. It has just been aired on Radio Kidderminster. However it seems appropriate since my good husband, James, and I have just returned from a twelve-day rail journey across Canada. What was so important in our small world in Oregon City seemed different when we were looking at it through the prism of the stunning geographical beauty of the Rocky Mountains and vast mid-west Canadian plains. It's always good to get a different perspective now and then. skp
I'm Baaaack!
Greetings friends and readers!
Did you miss me? A Causerie has not been posted for weeks and you might be poetry starved. Wait no more. As I mentioned earlier, James and I have been traveling. So, you will be seeing pictures for the next several postings of our travels. I hope that you enjoy them. Canada in the autumn is gorgeous. Almost two weeks of train travel was not tiring, but restorative. I highly recommend it. Please let me know if you have questions, or want pictures.
Welcome to Phil, Ken and Elaine, Michael and Yilin, Dan and Suzanne, and Jesmond to our Causerie discussion group. If I missed your name, please email and let me know. skp
